Žalujoči par se zateče v Raj, svojo samotno kočo v gozdovih. Upata, da si bosta tam zacelila zlomljeni srci in rešila zakonske težave. Vendar narava naredi svoje in stvari postajajo vse slabše in slabše.

O režiserju

Lars von Trier ima velik vpliv na evropski film. V devetdesetih je bil eden od ustanoviteljev gibanja Danska dogma in sodi med vodilne evropske režiserje.

Leta 1983 je diplomiral na Danski nacionalni filmski šoli. Prebil se je z THE ELEMENT OF CRIME (1984). Po trilogiji Europe je posnel televizijsko serijo The Kingdom I & II (leta 1994 in1997). Njegovi novejši filmi so DOGVILLE (2003), MANDERLAY (2005) in THE BOSS OF IT ALL (2006).

Skoraj vsi njegovi filmi so se uvrstili v uradni izbor mednarodnega filmskega festival v Cannesu. Osvojili so sedem nagrad, Plesalka v temi je leta 2000 dobila zlato palmo, Lom valov (1996) pa glavno nagrado žirije.
